The history of Acrow in Canada goes back to 1947 and Acrow’s commitment to Canada is unsurpassed. Based in Toronto, Acrow initially supplied formwork to Canadian contractors. Following years of technological development of the Bailey Bridge throughout the 1960s, Acrow Canada installed its first Bailey Bridge in Canada in 1965. It then went on to be the first company to introduce the use of modular Bailey bridges as reliable civilian infrastructure assets across Canada, with the inaugural installation of an Acrow bridge in Canada built over the historic Magaguadavic River in New Brunswick in 1972.

Following World War II, Bailey technology heavily influenced the development of other modular solutions, with Acrow developing the most technologically advanced suite of modular bridging systems available in the world today. A snapshot of these innovative solutions are the industry-leading Acrow 700XS®, and the Mabey product range (which includes the Mabey Compact 200® and the Mabey Delta®). These advanced solutions are much lighter, stronger and longer than the Bailey, and have been installed on more than a thousand successful projects across Canada.. Technologically superior, and only available from Acrow, the sole proprietary manufacturer, this comprehensive product range continues to serve in a wide range of permanent, temporary and emergency applications in Canada and worldwide.

When installed on a temporary rental basis, Acrow’s panel bridge systems offer an excellent solution for detouring traffic around work zones during bridge rehabilitation or replacement projects. Selected with increasing frequency to provide a cost-effective way to increase workzone safety and reduce construction time, temporary detour bridges keep residents safe by enabling construction to continue without re-routing traffic through local community streets. They also mitigate impacts on the local economy and help keep projects on or ahead of schedule. Acrow’s temporary solutions can also serve as complex truss systems engineered to support structures undergoing reconstruction or rehabilitation.
