(Toronto, Ontario) – 7 October 2022 – Acrow, a leading international bridge engineering and supply company, recently participated in a presentation session during the Transportation Association of Canada’s 2022 Conference and Exhibition, which took place October 2-5 in Edmonton, Alberta. The annual event is the largest national gathering of transportation professionals, and convenes one thousand decision-makers and leaders from businesses, municipalities, provincial transportation departments, associations, and academia. The theme of the event was Changing Ways for Our Changing Climate.

Acrow’s presentation which featured in the session on Transportation Structures was led by Ross Sturgeon, Business Development Manager – Western Canada. Sturgeon’s presentation, entitled ‘Building in Extremis: Building Climate-Resilient Bridge Infrastructure for a Changing World,’ drew on a range of case studies to illustrate how quality modular bridges enable Accelerated Bridge Construction, and deliver reliable, climate-resilient infrastructure more quickly safely, and efficiently than traditional bridging solutions. A focus of Sturgeon’s presentation was Acrow’s work on a critical emergency bridging project through the Fraser Canyon in British Columbia, which is providing temporary access for Highway 1, the main route through the province.
